Travel with Transport Canberra to Floriade 2018

Spring has officially sprung, bringing with it warmer weather, longer days and a flower show in full bloom. Floriade, Australia’s premium celebration of spring is set to delight the green thumb, floral aficionado or avant garde(ner) in you.

Spanning 30 days from 15 September to 14 October 2018, Floriade returns to Canberra for its 31st year.

NightFest will illuminate five nights from Wednesday 26 September until Sunday 30 September with dramatic lighting displays, music and entertainment for everyone to enjoy.

Transport Canberra Buses can take you to Floriade with a number of routes servicing Commonwealth Avenue near to the event.

Transport Canberra Buses to Commonwealth Park

Transport Canberra’s Blue Rapid 300 series operate from Belconnen, City, Woden, & Tuggeranong Bus Stations with high frequency, providing easy access to Commonwealth Park via stops 8888 & 8889 on Commonwealth Avenue.

Bus services to Floriade via the bus stops on Commonwealth Avenue depart from Platform 1 at the City Bus Station.

Weekdays: Blue Rapid 300, Green Rapid 6, 1 , 2, 3, 80 , Tourist Loop 81 and 182

Saturday: Blue Rapid 300, 932, 934 , 935 and 981

Sunday: Blue Rapid 300, 932, 934 , 935 and 981

Commonwealth Park is also an approximate 1km walk from the City Bus Station, via the footbridge over Parkes Way.

If you are travelling from Gungahlin to Floriade you can catch a 200 Red Rapid into the City before transferring onto a Blue Rapid 300 service. Both of these services operate on weekdays and weekends.

Floriade’s NightFest runs over five nights from Wednesday 26 September until Sunday 30 September 2018.

Transport Canberra’s Blue Rapid routes continue to provide access via Commonwealth Avenue on weekdays and Saturday nights.
