Light Rail Ready Event - Gungahlin Village

You are invited to Canberra’s first ever Rail Safety Week celebration.

National Rail Safety Week, 13-19 August 2018, is an Australasian Railway Association (ARA)/TrackSAFE initiative aimed to raise public awareness about safe behaviour around rail environments. The theme for this year is, “Rail safety – it’s everyone’s responsibility.”

The Light Rail Ready Event at Gungahlin Village will kick-off a week-long dedicated to draw attention to the behaviours that could lead to incidents on the light rail system.

During the event two light rail vehicles will be on display in Hibberson Street for people to inspect up close.

Getting there

Regular bus services to Gungahlin Place

City Bus Station

From the City you can catch the 200 Red Rapid series all day to Gungahlin Place and return.

Tuggeranong/Woden Bus Stations

From both Tuggeranong and Woden Bus Stations you can catch the 300 Blue Rapid series all day to the City Bus Station before transferring onto a 200 Red Rapid to Gungahlin Place.

Belconnen Bus Station

If you are travelling from Belconnen you can catch the Route 954 from Westfield Belconnen Bus Station, Cohen Street Bus Station and the Belconnen Community Bus Station.
