Using Transport Canberra Buses is a cost effective transport option for travel in and around Canberra, with adult, school student, concession and off peak fare options. Children five and under who are not attending school travel free and Seniors over 70 travel free.

From Saturday 14 January 2017, Transport Canberra will be  providing free off peak travel on ACTION buses for senior and concession MyWay  card holders (excludes student and tertiary card holders) as part of an ongoing trial. Eligible senior and concession holders who travel using  MyWay will be able to take advantage of this initiative during stated Transport  Canberra off peak travel times which are: between 9am – 4.30pm and after 6pm  weekdays and all day Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays.

Transport Canberra Buses use a MyWay smartcard prepaid ticketing system as well as accepting cash fares. Passengers can either scan a prepaid MyWay card or purchase a single or daily cash ticket on board the bus from the driver. All single fares entitle passengers to a free 90 minute transfer period. This enables you to connect to a different bus or commence your return journey using the same ticket if within 90 minutes of purchasing your ticket. Daily tickets are valid until midnight on the day of purchase.
