Transport Canberra steps in to assist locals with job relief

This week, Transport Canberra has proudly welcomed more than 30 local workers to the team as part of the ACT Government 'Jobs for Canberrans' fund. These locals were recently stood down from their usual roles in the wider transport industry due to COVID-19.

They are playing important roles in stepping up the cleaning of our bus fleet.

This work supports the ramped-up cleaning regime on our buses, light rail vehicles and at interchanges, stops and stations, as part of our response to keep our customers and drivers safe as we respond to COVID-19.

The industry experience and knowledge these people bring to our workforce is extremely valuable and will see more than 1,080 hours of cleaning undertaken on Transport Canberra buses each week.

We are happy to be supporting them in these interim roles until the pandemic is over and the industry can return to what it once was.

Welcome to the TC team!
