Late night services

Getting out and about during the festive and summer season? Skip the parking fees, RBT’s and Uber charges and use public transport to get you to and from where you need to go.

As part of the integrated public transport network, launched 29 April this year, we have late night and rapid services between major town centres on our seven-day network providing people with more options to get out and about over this period and all year round.

Transport Canberra offers frequent, affordable and convenient travel on both light rail and buses. You can also connect with light rail and buses with the same easy-to-use MyWay card.

Belconnen

For Belconnen, the Rapid 2, 3 and 4 provides frequent access to the City later into the evening.

City

Rapid services run through Central Canberra and into the city later into the evening.

Gungahlin

From Gungahlin, light rail provides easy access into the city and the Rapid 8 takes you direct to Belconnen town centre. Both services run late into the evenings.

Tuggeranong

For Tuggeranong, the Rapid 4 and 5 provides access to the city later into the evening.

Woden

The Rapid 4, 7 and 10 provides direct access to the city later into the evening from the Woden Town Centre, Cooleman Court and John Gorton Drive.

Planning your travel

Planning your travel is easy with our online journey planner. You can also track the arrival of your bus in real time with NXTBUS.

How to pay for your travel

MyWay is the most convenient and cost-effective way to pay for your travel.  All MyWay fares include a free 90-minute transfer period so you can connect to a different bus or light rail service or commence your return journey using the same ticket within 90 minutes of purchase.

You can purchase a MyWay card from a recharge agent, Access Canberra Service Centre, online or by phoning 13 17 10.

If you do not have a MyWay card you will need to buy a single ticket from a bus driver or ticket vending machine.

Park & Ride

Avoid the hustle and bustle of parking in busy shopping precincts and use one of our Park & Ride facilities across Canberra. Park & Ride facilities are located within easy reach of Rapid routes, providing you with easy access to simply park your car and jump on a bus or light rail service to complete your journey.

Bike & Ride

Riding a bike is a great way to connect with the Transport Canberra network using Bike & Ride.

You can ride your bike and secure it to a bike rail or at one of our six secure cages. You can also take it on board as you continue your journey on a bus or the light rail.
