What dates will the Late Night Rapids operate on?

The Late Night Rapid services will operate on both Friday (15 February) and Saturday (16 February) 2018.

Can I use the $10 discount to request an Uber from Civic City Station and other Canberra central bus stops?

No, the $10 discount will NOT work at the following stops and in the un-highlighted zone of Civic.

Can you use your MyWay card or is a cash fare required?

Regular cash fares apply on the Late Night Rapid services, or for the cheapest fare simply use your MyWay card to tap on and tap off. Passengers can also top-up their MyWay card or purchase a single ticket via the Ticket Vending Machines now available at Gungahlin, Woden, City and Tuggeranong major bus stations.

Where can I connect to and from, on the Late Night Rapid service?

The Late Night Rapid services are extended Red and Blue Rapid lines, running to all major town centres across Canberra and stopping along their usual bus stops en route. Major bus stations include Tuggeranong, Woden, City, Belconnen and Gungahlin.

How frequent are the Late Night Rapid services?

The Late Night Rapid services will operate every 20 minutes up until approximately 2:30am.

Are all services available?

Regular network services will commence their last run as per the current network timetable. The Late Night Rapids provide extended Blue and Red Rapid services, as a late night travel alternative during the Multicultural Festival.

How can you connect home from major bus stations?

Late Night Rapids will connect you to major bus stations across Canberra where you can then catch an Uber, return to your Park and Ride location, get picked up or ride share home. Plan ahead and connect your trip home. Additionally, when approaching the end of your journey, you may wish to call family or friends to pick you up.

Will Park & Ride be available?

You can use one of our convenient Park & Ride locations before you connect into the City or major town centres.

I need help to plan my trip. Where can I get some help?

To get to the National Multicultural Festival, you may need to use multiple modes of transport, including bus, walking and cycling. To help plan your trip, use the Transport Canberra Journey Planner and see how you can incorporate active travel to and from the event.

What security measures will be in place?

For the safety of passengers Transport Officers, CCTV, increased lighting and Transport Canberra Customer Services Staff will be present during Night Rider hours of operations. ACT Police will also be present and active around major bus stations.

To connect passengers home Transport Canberra is partnering with Uber to offer discounted Uber rides, making it an even more convenient and affordable option.

Those attending the festival who use the Late Night Rapid bus service from 2:00 pm-3:00 am on Friday and Saturday night will be eligible to receive up to $10 off their Uber trip home from connecting bus stations.

How to request a discounted a Late Night Rapid trip:

  1. Open the Uber app and choose your destination
  2. Tap the Late Night Rapid icon in the app, this will appear to the right of the uberX icon (please note that the icon will only appear if the origin and destination are within the service area, and during the relevant service time).
  3. Select 'Confirm Late Night Rapid'
  4. Select 'Confirm Pickup'

What happens if I try and use the Uber discount outside the hours of 2:00 pm & 3:00 am on the selected dates?

The discount will only work if the Uber pickup and drop off is between the hours of 2:00 pm and 3:00 am the following morning on the specified dates.

If your pick up or drop off happens outside these hours on the specified dates the discount will not work and you will not receive $10 off your trip.

What happens if I don't request my trip within the correct zone of the Late Night Rapid bus station?

If you are not located in one of the zones displayed on our map when you request your trip the discount will not be applied and you will not receive $10 off your trip.

What happens if I get dropped outside the drop-off zone?

To be eligible for the discount you must use a Late Night Rapid service to travel within the following zones.

If you travel between zones in your Uber you will not receive $10 off your trip.

What happens if my trip costs more than $10?

If the total fare exceeds AU$10.00, the balance will be charged to a payment method listed on your Uber account.

What happens if my trip costs under $10?

If the total fare costs under AU$10.00, your Uber trip will be free. Uber will not add credit to your account if the trip is under AU$10.00.
