ACT Government to expand Wanniassa and North Weston Park and Rides

Continuing with its commitment to improve existing public transport infrastructure, the ACT Government is set to deliver some exciting projects to better serve our growing population’s transport needs.

Design is underway for the expansion of the Wanniassa Park and Ride, located near the corner of Rylah Crescent and Langdon Avenue. This park and ride has seen huge growth in its use since opening, so this expansion—which will provide 30 extra car spaces—will make accessing the new Rapid services more convenient for even more passengers.

The North Weston Park and Ride located on Kirkpatrick Street has also proved very popular since it opened in 2014, and recent and expected growth in the Molonglo region will place extra pressure on it in the future. Design for this expansion, which will add more than 40 car spaces, is also currently underway. The planned expansion will enable more Canberrans to use the park and ride to access the new Rapid services.
