Event information

Celebrate with family friends this Australia Day in Canberra with music, food and fireworks!

Make sure to sit back and relax as the perfect live soundtrack fills the air at Regatta Point. Kicking off at 4pm, celebrations will be spread across Regatta Point and Patrick White Lawns. Headlined by Rogue Traders featuring Natalie Bassingthwaighte, the main stage at Regatta Point will have back-to-back entertainment. The concert will also feature a mix of local Canberra based artists including The Advocates Canberra, Los Chavos Music and Big Boss Groove.

Patrick White Lawns will host a range of sporting and interactive activities, where you can try your hand at a cricket fast bowl, practice your golf swing and so much more.

Pack a picnic or tantalise your taste buds at the food trucks at both Regatta Point and Patrick White Lawns. Finish the night off with a show-stopping fireworks display from the lake and Commonwealth Avenue Bridge at 9pm.

Travel to Regatta Point

Travel with Transport Canberra to and from the event at Regatta Point/Commonwealth Avenue.

City Bus Station to Regatta Point

Blue Rapid 300 services depart from Platform 1 and will drop event goers at bus stop 8888 on Commonwealth Avenue at Regatta Point.

Gungahlin Place Bus Station to Regatta Point

Red Rapid 200 services depart Platform 1 will drop event goers to the City Bus Station to transfer to a Blue Rapid 300 service from Platform 1 to Regatta Point.

Belconnen Bus Station to Regatta Point

Blue Rapid 300 services departing from the Cohen Street Bus Station, Westfield Belconnen Bus Station and Belconnen Community Bus Station will drop event goers to Regatta Point.

Woden Bus Station to Regatta Point

Blue Rapid 300 services from Platform 9 will drop event goers at bus stop 8889 on Commonwealth Avenue after Albert Hall.    

Tuggeranong Bus Station to Regatta Point

Blue Rapid 300 services from Platform 8 will drop event goers at bus stop 8889 on Commonwealth Avenue after Albert Hall.    

Getting Home

Following the completion of the fireworks at Regatta Point FREE chartered Transport Canberra buses will run from the Commonwealth Avenue bus stops at Regatta Point to the City, Gungahlin, Belconnen, Woden and Tuggeranong Bus Stations.

These charters will be available between 9.30pm - 11.30pm.

Plan your trip to Australia Day festivities with the new #TC Journey Planner

The easiest way to get to the event is by taking public transport.

The best way to plan your journey is to use the new Transport Canberra Journey Planner.

The Journey Planner allows you to select your mode of travel, in this case bus, and then select your start and end destination. You can even enter in when you wish to leave.

To plan your travel to Australia Day events simply place your starting destination in the starting point and then place your destination point. You will then be able to plan your travel depending on when you wish to leave.
