With the heavy smoke conditions impacting the ACT and the fire activity on the South Coast of NSW, there are a range of ACT Government service changes and additional supports that have been established for our community. A list of all changes is available on the ESA website and you can follow ESA on Facebook and Twitter.
Below are the service changes that have been established for Transport Canberra.
In the event of smoky and heatwave conditions, Canberra Metro will ensure their customer service staff work within the light rail vehicles, and not on stops to limit exposure.
Additional drivers are on standby to enable the ability to replace any drivers that may start to feel unwell and are unable to continue their shift or come in to work.
There are additional drivers and fleet available in the network to replace any drivers that may start to feel unwell and are unable to continue their shift or not come to work in the event of smoky conditions.
Transport Canberra customer services officers and Transport Officers are rotating through the offices and indoor locations closest to their area of work to ensure they have regular breaks from the current conditions.
