Run, walk and ride with us this autumn

We're making active travel improvements designed to provide accessible and safe cycling and walking infrastructure that encourages the community to get up and get moving.

In the spirit of Canberra Walk and Ride Week, which runs from 13 to 20 March 2020, we’re highlighting key active travel infrastructure projects that have been completed, are being constructed and due to commence construction around our city.

Canberra Walk and Ride Week provides a fantastic opportunity for the community to get out there and experience some of the new infrastructure improvements we have been making right across Canberra.

We've recently completed the following improvements around schools:

  • new footpath at Holy Spirit Primary School in Nicholls,
  • new footpath at Florey Primary School, and
  • improved line of sight for the crossing at Harrison Primary School.

The following projects are under construction:

We will begin construction on these projects this year:

Canberra Walk and Ride Week

March is the ideal time to boost your immunity by getting active and Canberra has many activities that provide that opportunity whether it is riding to Englighten or the Footy or going on a guided walk at the National Arbouretum.

If you want to set a goal for yourself, and maybe win a prize, register for one of the many March challenges:
