As COVID-19 restrictions start to ease over the coming weeks and months, we will see a gradual return to public transport. The ACT Government is continuing to encourage the community to only use bus and light rail services if absolutely necessary.
If you need to use public transport, avoid travelling in peak hour to help protect essential workers and travellers. Travelling outside of peak makes it easier to maintain physical distancing measures.
Travelling off peak is cheaper. Off peak discounts apply between 9:00am & 4:30pm and after 6:00pm on weekdays, and all day weekends and public holidays. All other periods are peak fares.
Spreading your travel helps maintain physical distancing on services and helps prevent crowding.
Before you travel, consider:
- Is your travel essential?
- Alternate forms of travel for local trips eg walk, run or ride.
- If you can, avoid travelling in the peak.
