Planning on attending the Remembrance Day ceremony? Transport Canberra, together with the Australian War Memorial, will be providing FREE transport to and from the Remembrance Day National Ceremony on Sunday, 11 November 2018.
Pre-registering provides you with peace of mind knowing that your bus travel to the Remembrance Day National Ceremony is arranged. It also allows Transport Canberra to effectively manage customer demand for bus services and ensures that bus resources are used efficiently.
As Remembrance Day is on a Sunday, Transport Canberra buses will be operating on a Sunday timetable for other non-shuttle services throughout the day.
NOTE: Transport Canberra advises that registration tickets for these services are limited. Registering to Ride will be available from Wednesday, 17 October 2018, and passengers are strongly encouraged to book their Register to Ride spot early.

Remembrance Day National Ceremony
Catch free shuttle services to the Remembrance Day National Ceremony. Shuttles will depart from Russell Drive, the Canberra Centre, Gungahlin Place, Westfield Belconnen, Tuggeranong Bus Station and Woden Bus Station.
Return shuttles will commence from the drop off locations 20 minutes after the ceremony concludes.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to departure and present your ticket(s) in either electronic or paper form to Transport Canberra. This will ensure that passengers are boarded ready for the advertised departure time.
By Registering to Ride you are selecting to ride with Transport Canberra buses, which include both seated and standing positions on the bus. Please note that passengers are not guaranteed a seat for travel. Transport Canberra advises that registration tickets for this service are limited.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why do I need to register for a free service?
2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (1914-18). The anniversary is expected to be well attended on the day. Parking and road closures in and around the Australian War Memorial is restricted. To minimise these pressures Transport Canberra, together with the Australian War Memorial, provide free bus services. A registration process assists Transport Canberra in gauging expected attendance and to assist passengers in preparing for their travels.
Does registering to ride guarantee me a seat on the bus?
By registering to ride passengers are selecting to travel with Transport Canberra buses to the Remembrance Day National Ceremony. This includes both seated and standing positions on the bus.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Passengers are to bring their printed or electronic ticket to the selected event pick up location. Tickets will be scanned by Customer Service on the day.
Are tickets to the event unlimited?
Bus services to the Remembrance Day National Ceremony are limited. Registering to Ride will be available for a four week period (unless booked out earlier) commencing Wednesday 17 October. To avoid disappointment, passengers are strongly encouraged to Register to Ride for the event.
NOTE: Buses will depart at the advertised time. Passengers are advised to arrive 15 minutes prior to departure to ensure that boarding is complete. Tickets are not transferrable for other locations/times.
What if I don’t have access to the internet to register?
Contact 13 17 10 and you will be registered over the phone. A copy of the ticket/s will be sent to your nominated mailing address.
What if I arrive on the day without registering?
Transport Canberra cannot guarantee that there will be available space to board the bus if passengers have not registered to use the free service. If there is no room to board passengers will need to make alternative arrangements.
