The Melbourne Cup Race Day is one of the biggest social events of the year from racing fans, socialites and fashionista’s alike, who will witness the running of the Melbourne Cup on the big screen at Thoroughbred Park whilst surrounded by the atmosphere and excitement of local racing.

Free Public Transport

Travel on ALL Transport Canberra services will be FREE to pre-purchased race day ticket holders.

Simply present your pre-purchased ticket to the bus driver when boarding or CMET Staff upon request.

The following regular Transport Canberra routes will service nearby to the event.

  • R1 - Light rail services run between Gungahlin Place and the City, with stops along Northbourne Avenue and Flemington Road. Passengers can catch the light rail to the EPIC and Racecourse stop.
  • Route 18 - departs Gungahlin Place Platform 3 to Randwick Road and Thoroughbred Park.

Park & Ride
