Top up MyWay


There are several ways you can put credit and top up your MyWay card.

Instant top up

  • MyWay Agents: Payments of $5 to $190 can be added to your MyWay card and are instantly available to use as travel credit. Find your nearest MyWay Agent for card top ups.
  • Autoload: Set up direct debit to automatically add value to your MyWay card when the balance falls below $10. Payment will be taken from your nominated bank account or credit card over the following days. You can choose a top up amount between $20 and $190. Autoload attracts a further 5% discount on all fares. Use the autoload form to be applied to your MyWay card within two days. If you wish to make changes to your existing autoload feature, complete a new autoload form. To cancel your payments phone 13 17 10 or contact us. Please note if you apply autoload, do not apply an online or BPAY payment as this will deactivate the autoload update.
  • Ticket vending machines: Passengers are able to conveniently top up their MyWay card instantly for bus, and light rail, as well as check their MyWay balance or purchase a single or daily adult or concession ticket using these machines. Ticket vending machines are touch screen based and user-friendly, allowing a simple and fast transaction where you can purchase more than one single or daily ticket in one single transaction or top-up your MyWay card instantly. Please note tickets are only valid for travel on the day of purchase. The machines allow payment using cash or PayWave (MasterCard and Visa only, with a limit of up to $90 in one transaction).

    • City interchange - behind platform 4
    • Woden temporary bus interchange - platform 6
    • Tuggeranong bus interchange - between platforms 3 and 8
    • Light rail platforms
    • Canberra Airport - adjacent to the Visit Canberra booth
    • Westfield Belconnen bus interchange - inside the shopping centre entrance off Lathlain Street

Other top up

  • Online payments: Use the MyWay add value form. Payment must be made using a Visa or MasterCard. Funds will apply to your MyWay card within 5 days of payment.
  • Over the phone: Call 13 17 10 to add value over the phone using your Visa or MasterCard. Funds will apply to your MyWay card within 5 days of payment.
  • BPAY: The Biller Code and your Customer Reference Number are located on the front of your MyWay card in the bottom-right corner. Funds will apply to your MyWay card 5 days from the time of payment. BPAY attracts a further 5% discount on all fares.

Remember, top ups made online, over the phone or by Bpay may not appear in your travel balance until you tap your MyWay card on a bus or a validator at a light rail platform.
