MyWay calculates the cheapest possible fare per passenger, based on any eligible concession and daily or monthly fare caps.

All MyWay fares include a free 90-minute transfer period so you can connect to a different bus or light rail service or commence your return journey using the same ticket within 90 minutes of purchase. Daily tickets are valid until midnight on the day of purchase.

Children five and under not attending school and ACT seniors Over 70 travel free.

Cash fares

Cash fares are still accepted for passengers who do not hold a MyWay card.

If travelling on a bus please use exact or small change to pay your cash fare when boarding the bus alternatively you can purchase a cash ticket at a Ticket Vending Machine located at major bus stations. 

If travelling on the Light Rail you can purchase a cash ticket at the Ticket Vending Machines located on all light rail platforms.

Off peak discounts apply between 9:00am & 4:30pm and after 6:00pm on weekdays, and all day weekends and public holidays. All other periods are peak fares. There is no off peak discount for cash fares.

A 40 paid trip cap (30 paid trip cap for school students) applies for the calendar month with all subsequent travel that month free if you tap on and off.

You can receive a further discount using MyWay if you top-up your card via autoload (direct debit) or BPAY.

FREE transfer for 90 minutes.

Free off peak travel for senior and concession MyWay card holders applies when users tap on and tap off correctly.

A default fare will be charged if users don't tap off. Eligible passengers must carry proof of concession.

All fares are GST inclusive.

Autoload and BPAY discounts on MyWay

MyWay users who register their card and recharge through autoload (direct debit) or BPAY are eligible for a 5% discount on their individual trip fares. The discount is applied automatically once the recharge payment has been processed.

The 5% discount is determined by the last payment method. For example, when a BPAY or autoload payment is processed, any trips taken after this payment will have the 5% discount applied. Should another payment method be received and processed (e.g. cash payment) the 5% discount will be removed until another BPAY or autoload payment is processed.

Please note that the 5% discount is only applicable to individual trip fares. The discount does not apply to daily fare caps.
