Improving active travel

The ACT Government is integrating walking and cycling into Canberra's overall urban planning, transport, health, environment and education systems. For more information see the Transport Strategy.

To find out how we are making the network even safer and more connected see infrastructure improvements.

The ACT Government uses data to inform future improvements to Canberra’s walking and cycling network. You may have noticed the bike barometer on MacArthur Avenue in O'Connor which counts the number of cyclists and displays this information online. Data can be downloaded from the ACT Government’s Open Data Portal.
