Service alerts and updates

Several bus stops in Bruce and CIT Bruce will not be serviced from 3:15 pm until the event concludes on Friday 21 August 2026. Rapid 9 and Route 901 services will be diverted in both directions. This is due to road closures near GIO stadium Canberra for the Raiders game.

Passengers travelling to the Raiders game can use the free shuttle services travelling to and from the GIO Stadium Canberra. Passengers do not need to tap on and off these services. Regular Transport Canberra bus services also provide convenient connections to the free shuttle services at major bus interchanges and the University of Canberra bus stops. These services operate to the normal timetable and regular fares apply.

When:

• From 3:15 pm until the event concludes on Friday 21 August 2026.

Routes affected:

• R9 and 901 services will be diverted in both directions

• R9 will be diverted via Paget street due to the closure on Battye Street and will resume normal service along Thyme Street.

• Route 901 will not service bus stops between Eardley Street and Purdie Street and will instead continue to travel along Haydon Drive to North Canberra Hospital.

  • R9 to Watson will continue to service this stop

• Bus stop 4605: Thynne Street opposite Eardley Street
  • Route 901 will not service this stop

  • Both Route 901 and R9 will not service this stop

• Bus stop 3439: CIT Solutions Vowels Crescent
  • Route 901 will not service this stop.

• Bus stop 3440: Vowles Crescent opposite CIT Solutions
  • Route 901 will not service this stop.

• Bus stop 3460: Watkin Street after Battye Street
  • Both Route 901 and R9 will not service this stop.

• Bus stop 4606: Thynne Street after Traeger Circuit
  • Route 901 will not service this stop.
  • R9 to Belconnen will continue to service this stop.

• Bus stop 4982: Eardley Street after Thynne Street
  • Route 901 will not service this stop
  • R9 to Belconnen will continue to service this stop

• Bus stop 1776: Battye Street opposite CIT Bruce

• Services that normally service bus stops 3460, 4606 and 4982, please proceed to bus stop 4188 on Haydon Drive after College Street.

For Rapid 9 (R9):

• Services to Watson that normally service bus stop 3459, please proceed to bus stop 4605 on Thynne Street opposite Eardley Street.

• Services to Belconnen that normally service bus stop 3460, please proceed to bus stop 4606 on Thynne Street after Traeger Circuit.

• Services to Watson that normally service bus stop 1776, please proceed to bus stop 3407 on Braybrooke Street after Battye Street.
