Using your MyWay+ account and app

Your MyWay+ account provides personalised and convenient travel management. You can:

  • set up contactless payments
  • link your MyWay+ travel card
  • register a concession
  • view your transaction and travel history.

MyWay+ account set up

Create a MyWay+ account

You can create a stand alone MyWay+ account or you can use the ACT Digital Account to create a MyWay+ account. Simply head to the MyWay+ portal and select one of these options:

  • Select ‘Continue with ACT Digital Account’ if you already have an ACT Digital Account and would like to create and link your MyWay+ account to it.
  • Select ‘Sign up’ and then ‘ACT Digital Account sign up’ to create an ACT Digital Account which you can then link to your MyWay+ account.
  • Select ‘Sign up’ and then ‘Create a MyWay+ account without an ACT Digital Account’ to create a stand alone MyWay+ account.

When you are creating a stand alone MyWay+ account:

  • you must provide your full name and a unique email address
  • you must activate your account by clicking on the link sent in your verification email
  • your user name is usually your first and last name separated by a full stop (firstname.lastname)
  • make sure your browser pop-ups are enabled so you can complete the account set up process.

Link your payment method, concession status and travel card

Link payment method

To link your preferred contactless payment methods (Mastercard or Visa), select ‘Link fare cards’ and input your bank card details under the ‘Link credit/debit card’ section. Please note:

  • contactless payment methods can only be linked to one user account at a time
  • physical and digital payment card are considered different cards when tapping on and off public transport (always use the same one so you are charged the cheapest fare)
  • contactless cards that are delinked from an account cannot be linked to another account for 45 days.

Register a concession (if eligible)

Check concession eligibility. to see if you are eligible for free or discounted travel. Follow these steps to add your concession to your MyWay+ account:

  • select ‘Register concession’ on the menu
  • select ‘Concession’ under 'Fare type', and then select your concession type from the list
  • press the ‘Submit’ button.

Important: Concessions are set to expire based on predefined time periods. If you have a MyWay+ account you will receive email notification 15 days before your concession is set to expire, reminding you to update or revalidate your concession. Accounts where concessions are not revalidated will revert to a standards adult account.

Buy and link MyWay+ travel cards

You can buy a MyWay+ travel card:

  • online in your MyWay+ account (automatically linked to your account, concession applied and posted to your address) or
  • from MyWay+ retail outlets (concession applied to card if presented at time of purchase, but you will need to link your MyWay+ travel card to your MyWay+ account).

To link your MyWay+ travel card to your MyWay+ account:

  • select ‘Link fare cards’ on the menu
  • input your MyWay+ travel card details under the ‘Link MyWay+ card’ section.

Top up and auto top up

You can choose to top up your MyWay+ account by either:

  • logging into your MyWay+ account and selecting ‘Top up MyWay+’
  • going to Quick top up on the customer portal and entering your MyWay+ card details and payment information (no MyWay+ account registration required)
  • visiting a MyWay+ retail outlet.

You can also set up an automatic top up. Users who set up auto top ups are eligible for a 5% discount on individual trip fares. Your nominated Mastercard or Visa will be charged when your travel balance falls below $10.

Top ups are applied immediately, ensuring your balance is ready for travel.

You can check your account balance on the homepage of your MyWay+ account.

Transaction and travel history

Once you have logged into your MyWay+ account, select ‘Account history’ from the menu.

Adjust the ‘From date’ and ‘To date’ to expand the date range for transaction or travel history. Then select ‘Search’ to see all the history for the selected date duration.

You can select to the number of entries to display by selecting from the drop down menu at ‘show 10, 20 or 50 entries’ under the account summary section.

Additional MyWay+ services

You can log in to the MyWay+ app using your account details. You must be logged in to manage your account, link your MyWay+ travel card, view your transaction and travel history, and receive custom trip notifications. If you don't log in, you can still use the MyWay+ app to access basic features such as viewing public transport routes and planning your journey. For full functionality, it’s recommended to create and log into your MyWay+ account.

MyWay+ app

Download the MyWay+ app from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. If you don't log in, you can still use the MyWay+ app to access basic features such as viewing public transport routes and planning your journey. For full functionality, it’s recommended to create and log into your MyWay+ account.

To use the MyWay+ pass (QR code) to travel on bus and light rail services, simply select the MyWay+ pass and scan the QR code under the MyWay+ validator. Remember to scan off with the QR code so you are charged the correct fare. Please note the QR code must be scanned directly from the MyWay+ app. The QR code is dynamic and a screenshot will not work. Learn more about scanning QR codes.

You can also access your MyWay+ account from the app. Once you’ve logged into the MyWay+ app, click your profile icon on the top right corner of the screen, select ‘Show MyWay+ portal,’ and you’ll be directed to your account. From there, you can check your account balance, manage concessions and payment methods, top up your account or view your full transaction and travel history.

Cancel a MyWay+ card

If you lose your card please contact 13 17 10.

Park and Ride

You can register your card for a digital Park and Ride permit in your MyWay+ account under the ‘Park and Ride' tab. You can have digital permits for up to 3 cars in one MyWay+ account. Park and Ride permits must be re-registered every 3 months. Learn more about Park and Ride.

Bike and Ride

Transport Canberra manages 6 secure bike cages. Transport Canberra is continuing to work on the integration of the secure bike cage access and MyWay+. In the mean time, if you had access to the cages via your old MyWay card, you can continue to use that card for access. To apply for access email mywayplus@act.gov.au with your contact details and preferred bike cage location.
