Coppins Crossing Road temporary closure and travel arrangements


From 2 am Wednesday 12 August to 6 pm Friday 14 August 2026, Coppins Crossing Road will be closed in both directions between Holborow Avenue and Hazel Hawke Avenue. This is due to construction for the Molonglo River Bridge project. If required, the road closure will remain in place until 6 pm Saturday 15 August 2026 to allow works to be completed.

Please be advised of the following changes affecting road access and public transport services in the Whitlam and Denman Prospect area.

Public transport impacts

Route 47 will only service stops between Belconnen and Whitlam from 2 am Wednesday 12 August to 6 pm Friday 14 August 2026. Several bus stops in Denman Prospect and Whitlam will not be serviced during this time. For full information, please visit our service alerts page.

Alternate travel options for Denman Prospect residents

Rapid 10 services to the city and route 66 services to Woden will continue to service the Denman Prospect region.

Passengers travelling from Whitlam to Denman Prospect can take the route 47 to Belconnen, transfer to Rapid 2, Rapid 3 or Rapid 4 to the city and then transfer to Rapid 10 services to reach Denman Prospect.
