Meet our newest graduates


This month nine graduates completed their bus driver training program to become qualified bus drivers with Transport Canberra.

The graduates come from a wide range of professions such as special education teacher, art and business manager, chef, Australian Border Force officer and a Royal Australian Navy officer.

“It’s my dream job to be part of Transport Canberra. Now I’m a professional bus driver and I’m really excited,” said graduate driver Amandeep who was a truck driver in his previous role.

Amandeep and the other graduates went through a few weeks of intensive training in both the classroom and with on-road training. They also completed ‘live running’ exercises where they picked up passengers and completed live bus routes under the supervision of a trainer.

The team at Transport Canberra congratulate the latest class of graduates and wish them well on their bus driving journey as they begin their first shifts.
