Rural services to ACT schools
Find a rural service for Queanbeyan, Hall, Tidbinbilla, Uriarra, Tharwa, and Majura Road.
If Transport Canberra services are unavailable in your rural area, you may be eligible for a conveyance allowance to reimburse the costs of transporting your child to school or the nearest bus stop.
Free student transport
Some full-time students are eligible for free travel Monday to Friday during the school term under the school transport program.
Parents travelling on school services
School bus services are available for school students only. Under special circumstances, parents may temporarily travel on a school service with their school child to help them adjust to travelling on a bus. Complete the Short-Term Parent School Bus Travel Application Form (Word 2MB) Short-Term Parent School Bus Travel Application form (PDF) and allow at least 10 working days for a response. Normal fares apply if the application is approved.
Students with disability
Students with disability may be eligible for Special Needs Transport (SNT).
