From Tuesday 7 April, Transport Canberra will introduce targeted timetable improvements to selected bus routes and school services. These improvements will reflect bus services operating south of city, including across Commonwealth Avenue Bridge to improve reliability and reduce early running.
Improved services from 7 April 2026
- Rapids: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 10
- Regular services: 56, 57, 58, 59 and 66
Improved school services from 20 April 2026
School services improvements align with the commencement of Term 2.

Since the revised network began, Transport Canberra has closely monitored how services are operating on the road.
While construction impacts on Commonwealth Avenue Bridge were factored into the original timetables, services are now travelling across the bridge faster than expected. This has resulted in some buses arriving earlier than scheduled, causing confusion.
The upcoming timetable improvements will better align scheduled run times with actual travel conditions, helping services arrive at stops and schools at more consistent and predictable times.
Transport Canberra will continue to monitor services and make further adjustments if required.
What’s changing
- All services that use Commonwealth Avenue Bridge will have timetable adjustments (south of the lake)
- Selected school services and regular bus routes used by students will have updated departure times
- Changes are targeted improvements only, not a new network or major timetable change
- Most changes will be small, but important for improving on-time running and reliability
