The ACT and Queanbeyan-Palerang Household Travel Survey 2022 of daily travel patterns was conducted by Ipsos Social Research Institute for the ACT Government and the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council.
Data was collected using a one-day diary, with residents from over 2,000 households providing detailed descriptions of their travel and activities.
Outcomes from the research have helped inform transport planning and policy development across the ACT and Queanbeyan.

The survey was conducted for the Transport Canberra and City Services Directorate and the Queanbeyan-Palerang Regional Council by the Ipsos travel survey team.
The purpose of this survey was to collect essential information on the day-to-day travel and activities of people living in various parts of the ACT and Queanbeyan-Palerang regional areas: how, where, why and when people travel.
The survey results provided a reliable picture of travel patterns occurring in different areas – information that has helped make planning decisions about roads, public transport and other facilities in and around your local community.
The Travel Survey team respects the privacy of individuals. All information obtained through the survey has been treated in the strictest confidence, and only analysed in combination with many other households.
No data that allows identification of survey participants has been released. Furthermore, no address or contact information from this project was stored by the travel survey team, unless the respondent explicitly agreed to participate in other transport related research.
No individual person was selected for the survey. Instead, a random sample of households was selected from up-to-date listings of street addresses.
