Using paper tickets on Fare free Fridays


For all passengers travelling on Fare free Fridays using a single use ticket, please do not scan on and off when using Transport Canberra bus and light rail services until further notice. This is to ensure you do not activate your ticket on Fridays.

This includes both a single journey ticket and a day ticket purchased from ticket vending machines or a QR code digital ticket purchased from the MyWay+ customer portal login page.

Enjoy a free ride on Fridays and keep your ticket for future travel. Single use tickets must be used within 7 days after purchase.

You can still tap or scan on and off using a bank card, MyWay+ card or in-app QR code. No fares will be charged.

If you have scanned on and off with your single use ticket on a Fare free Friday, please call our customer service team at 13 17 10 for assistance.
