Woden bus interchange closure


The Woden bus interchange will close permanently from last service Sunday 29 January 2023.

As part of the construction of the new Woden CIT and public transport interchange, a temporary bus interchange will open on Monday 30 January 2023, aligning with the timetable changes.

Where

  • Woden bus interchange will relocate from the southern side of Grand Central Towers (between Bowes Street and Bradley Street) to the northern side of Grand Central Towers (between Matilda Street and Bowes Street). The number of platforms will reduce from 10 to 6.

When

  • The interchange will permanently close from last service Sunday, 29 January 2023. The temporary bus interchange will open Monday 30 January 2023.

Routes impacted

Platforms will change as follows:

  • Rapids
    • R4 (City and Belconnen) and R5 (to City) depart from platform 3.
    • R4 (Tuggeranong), R5 (Lanyon) and R6 (City) depart from platform 4.
  • Regular routes
    • 57, 58, 59, 62 and 66 depart from platform 5.
    • 60, 61, 63, 64 and 65 depart from platform 2.
    • 70, 71, 72, 73, 76 and 77 depart from platform 1.
  • Shuttle service
    • 902 (Alexander Maconochie Centre), special event services and NSW services depart from platform 6.
  • School services
    • 2007, 2014, 2022, 2025, 2029, 2032, 2044 and 2057 depart from platform 2.

    All affected schools have been notified of these changes.

Temporary Woden bus interchange

The new temporary Woden bus interchange will open Monday 30 January 2023, aligning with the timetable change.

The map shows the relocation of the bus interchange from the southern side of Grand Central Towers (between Bradley Street and Bowen Street) to the northern side of Grand Central Towers (between Bowen Street and Matilda Street). The new interchange is east of the Matilda Street carpark.
