Looking for the best way to get to Floriade?  We’ve got you covered.

Free Floriade shuttle buses

The free Floriade Shuttle bus is available every day of Floriade, operated by CDC Canberra. There will also be a free Weekend Express from the Tuggeranong, Woden and Belconnen town centres, operated by CDC Canberra. More details of the free Floriade Shuttle and Weekend Express buses can be found on the Floriade website.

Please note that the Floriade Shuttle and Weekend Express buses will not be reflected in Transport Canberra’s Journey Planner.

Regular Transport Canberra bus and light rail services

The closest southbound bus stop is located on Commonwealth Avenue (bus stop 8888) close to the Regatta Point entry gate. This bus stop is serviced by the following rapid and regular routes: R2, R4, R5, R6, R7, R10, 57 and 58.

Due to the delivery of major infrastructure project, the northbound bus stop on Commonwealth Avenue nearest Regatta Point (8889) is closed. Event attendees can use the following alternative northbound bus stops:

  • Bus stop 2248 at Albert Hall on Commonwealth Avenue. This bus stop is serviced by R4, R5, R7 and R10.
  • Bus stop 3259 at the Treasury Building on King Edward Terrace. This bus stop is serviced by R2 and R6.
  • Bus stop 1777 on Langton Crescent before King Edward Terrace. This bus stop is serviced by routes 57 and 58.

To make your way to and from these stops, you can take the free Floriade Shuttle or follow the National Triangle Walking Trail. Find out more on the Floriade website.

City

R2, R4, R5, R6, R7, R10, 57 and 58 from the City bus interchange.

Belconnen

R2, R3 and R4 from the Belconnen bus interchange.

Gungahlin

The closest light rail stop is Alinga Street in the city near London Circuit. From here, you can connect with the free Floriade shuttle at the City bus Interchange platform 9, Rapid bus services R2, R6, R7 and R10 or walk to Floriade.

Woden, Weston Creek and Molonglo

R4, R5, R6 and 59 from Woden, R7 from Weston Creek and R10 from Molonglo.

Tuggeranong

R4 from Tuggeranong bus interchange.

Walking

Floriade is a pleasant walk from the city. The route from the Canberra Centre to Floriade is via Allara Street. This will get you to the Parkes Way entry in about 15 minutes. See the Floriade Walking Trail map here.

Cycling

Cycling to Floriade is a great way to enjoy the fresh spring air. Check the cycling maps to plan your trip. Bicycle racks are located at every entry gate to Floriade. Please be aware that bikes are not allowed to be ridden in the Floriade site.

Shared e-scooters

Shared e-scooters are a great option to get to Floriade. Please be aware that scooters are not allowed to be ridden in the Floriade site.

Park and Ride

There is limited parking available at Acton Park across from Commonwealth Park. Avoid the hustle and bustle of finding a park and use one of our Park and Ride facilities across Canberra. Park and Ride facilities are located within easy reach of bus and light rail services. Park your car and jump on a bus or light rail service to Floriade. Rapid bus services run every 15 to 30 minutes on weekends.

Tickets and MyWay+

Regular fares apply to all Transport Canberra bus and light rail services during Floriade, except for Fare Free Fridays.

MyWay+ offers a range of payment options, so you can choose what works best for you. Simply tap on and off with your preferred payment method to catch light rail and buses. Check the Ticket and MyWay+ page for more information.

Download the MyWay+ app or use the journey planner to plan your trip. All you need to do is:

  1. Type in your departure location
  2. Select your destination, departure or arrival time
  3. Select your preferred transport mode.

Traveling on Fridays in Canberra

Fare free Fridays mean everyone can travel for free on our buses and light rail every Friday. Passengers need to tap on and off all bus and light rail services on Fridays but are not charged any fares.

For all passengers travelling on Fare free Fridays using a single use ticket, please do not scan on and off when using Transport Canberra bus and light rail services. This is to ensure you do not activate your ticket on Fridays.

You can tap or scan on and off using a bank card, MyWay+ card or in-app QR code. No fares will be charged.
